Now that's interesting. BBC radio did a sitcom in the 80s called It Sticks Out Half A Mile about a pier being renovated. It, too, was set just after WWII and starred a number of the stars of Dad's Army as the same characters. In the pilot, Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring and Ian Lavender as Pike get a loan from Sgt Wilson (John Le Mesurier) as he is now bank manager. As Lowe was really very ill and may have passed away by the time the series was commissioned, he was replaced by the actor who played the ARP warden in Dad's Army, as the same character, Hodges.

Did not see those. I recall him in Only When I Laugh and one where he takes over an old penny arcade with a friend. Now what was that called?
