Roger Chapman and Family not a rock singer and a rock band?.

Not being rude, but have you ever listened to Roger or Family?.
Family were most certainly a rock band (heavy rock/prog) and Chapman most certainly a rock vocalist, and a very unique one as well.

I have heard some of Family not a great deal to be honest, I would class them very much a a prog band, however I did not rate him as a singer, although I do concede he has a unique voice. Jon Anderson is another who has a unique voice, but for me I simply do not like their style of singing

I do like prog bands as a rule, Yes Gentle Giant, ELP King Crimson. these bands however are probably more focused on complex music and musicianship as oppsed to singing

Ok so that's 11 off the top of my head. No doubt I'll think of several more.

A lot of people have put Bon Scott. Brilliant singer but nowhere near the range of any of the above. He's more a front man than a singer. Haha that'll get everyone arguing !

Suzi Quatro every time for me. She even starred in Happy Days as a rocker who Joanie Cunningham wanted to go around with, inspired by cool dude Fonzie

I saw Suzi at Gloucester Leisure Centre in '78. I had to escape from the adolescent residential unit to see her as I was in pyjama's, my clothes being confiscated after running away a few days prior
