It must have been over thirty years since I'd last seen GP live and I was a little apprehensive in case I was disappointed but I needn't have worried. The music was LOUD (it took until the following Wednesday for my hearing to get back to normal) but brilliant. GP has a great back catalogue and did such classics as Hey Lord, Don't Ask Me Questions, Soul Shoes and Watch The Moon Come Down. It was a fabulous mixture of 70's soul and more recent offerings but the quality of performance was excellent throughout. Incidentally, although GP himself is wearing well, the Rumour (brilliant as they were) look more like furniture salesmen than rock musicians.
Support was provided by Miles Hunt and Erica Nockalls from the Wonderstuff. Great anecdotes in between songs and interesting music but I'm not sure the violin wasn't a bit overused.
