I wish I'd written 'You've got a friend' instead of that dreadfully talented woman Carol King

Its good, but I always think "All I need is a miracle" is their standout song.

This is 1967. Written 2 years earlier by a 17 year old Steve Winwood and his English pals who feel the gospel organ and the soul of Motor City.

Stones would hit back with Sympathy of the Devil in 1968 and Gimme Shelter in 1969. The Who released Baba Oreilly in 1971. Steepenwulf's Magic Carpet and Born to be Wild ride was in 1968. Suddenly all styles of music and instruments were up for grabs. All voices. Nothing was off limits. CCR released their first album in 1968. Dusty Springfield had released for what its worth in 1966.

The Shondells would release Crimson and Clover in 1968.

Unable to edit - but it struck me is that pop and rock music at about this time was producing very complex musical tracks, after the 1950's and early 60's had been fairly simple songs that accentuated a beautiful voice or a catchy tune, soungs were now far more about original compositions, and borrowing from different styles.

Dusty Springfield's son of a preacher man 1969.

Janis Joplin 1967 Piece of my Heart, Bobby McGee 1968, Mercedez Benz 1969.

And just I think Stevie Winwood sums up perfectly what was happening to global music at the time with "Give me Some Loving".

I suppose one could ask, which songwriter would you have rather wanted to be like?
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
                              I'm having so much fun
                              My lucky number's one
                              Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!
