(Lol) Ah yes, I remember The Motors' Airport very well. Evokes vivid images of 1978. Another few songs that stick in my mind from that year too are:

      1. London Town - Paul McCartney and Wings
      2. One For You, One For Me - Jonathan King (remember the purple hair?)
      3. Darlin' - Frankie Miller
      4. 5705 - City Boy
      5. I Love The Sound of Breaking Glass - Nick Lowe
      6. Giving Up, Giving In - The Three Degrees
      7. Brand New Day - Lindisfarne (the expected Christmas hit which, unfortunately, never happened)
      8. Dance With Me - Peter Brown
      9. It Sure Brings Out The Love In Your Eyes - David Soul
      10. Life's Been Good - Joe Walsh

I know. Daylight Katie was another much-played record in the autumn of 1978, as I recall. Remember that other song from Justin Hayward - Driftwood, I think it was called?

That was the UK's Eurovision Song Contest entry, which came 2nd. Although I'm too young to remember that year's contest, I've been able to read about it in two Eurovision Song Contest books that I have, and on the official Eurovision Song Contest website. That song is also on the album "This is Eurovision" which I've had for several years.

Terry Jacks - Seasons in the sun. Always takes me back to hot summer days spent playing on the fields at primary school.

Not a 70's song but only rediscovered this one on reading the man's autobiography. 'Me and my girl nightclubbing' by David Essex. A weird quirky song that I distinctly remember warbling along to when I was five. Didn't know it was David Essex. Of course at that age I had no idea who he was.
