Same with any Yvonne Ellimann song that isn't If I Can't Have You & Love Me.
Both very underrated singers.

Re: Seventies Songs You Never Hear Anymore
Mrs PW has Radio 2 on all the time ; everytime I get in the car, always on in the kitchen (that's by credentials for adding these)....
ANYTHING by Wizzard EXCEPT I Wish It Could be Christmas Every Day. There was 'Ball Park Indident', 'Angel Fingers', 'See My Baby Jive' (covered by the brilliant Last Autumn's Dream) and a forgotten classic 'Rock and Roll Winter'.
You never hear 10cc's Rubber Bullets either, the others, yes.
And what about Mott the Hoople ? Never heard anything by them on the radio. They had a string of hits that I can't be bothered to list.
Nazareth have also been mentioned by somebody farther back in this thread (obviously somebody with SUPERB taste who liked Survivors as much as I did). Add their excellent This Flight Tonight (which my miserable sister complained about as it was a Joni Mitchell song they'd ruined) and Shanghai'd in Shanghai.
Smokie - apart from Alice you never hear anything else by them. They had loads ofchart songs in the 70's. What a brilliant band.

Re: Seventies Songs You Never Hear Anymore
Update ... Yikes ,wish I hadn't bothered
Played all their old singles and they left me cold
Followed a link to The Sweet anthology .
They sounded pretty damn decent ..
Action , Fox on the Run , Love is Like Oxygen , plus still love the intro to Ballroom Blitz
There's a load of rocking trax I'd never heard that sound real decent ..I'd forgotten how they morphed into a proper rock band far heavier than Nazareth ...
Amazing rocking version of Reach out I'll be There !
I'll skate over the crappy early stuff

Nazareth should not be judged on their singles.
Listen to 'Rampant' and Hair of the Dog. There you will hear the real band not the commercial side.
