When I was younger, my sister was a mod,sharing a room her songs got drummed into me, does anyone know this,(just a few lines sorry)
"wake up in the morning, but its dark outside,turn on the radio,and listen to the music,grab another drink of tea,but you're still tired,wonder why you feel as though you're turning on sorrow owwwowwo. It may of been the Jam ,but as I say she classed herself as a "mod". wish you could hear the tune in my head lol. I often get it in my head, but I've no idea what it is, and my sister cant remember.

..... no I've been sitting here for 15 minutes and I cant remember. At first the words seemed familiar,.. but then....its all gone !!! lol

I was searching earlier for this..don't think its the Jam.
Did she listen to Secret Affair,Merton Parkas,The Chords or any of the other mod bands?
any more lyrics? fast song or slow?

Hi Daz it was quite fast I think, just rang my sister, but she's not there,I'll squeeze some info out of her tomorrow, to see which other groups she listened to, I cant remember anymore of the lyrics,thats why it drives me so mad, just the same bit over and over and.....

A big thank you to those who tried to help,We had a family kids birthday party today,and me and my sister were talking about this song yet again,one of the dad's there knew it straight away,It was by a Band called The Gents and the song was called day to day,it's took years to find out, but as a very wise man told me recently,someone out there will always know.

The bloke at the party said they only did a few albums, and were a bit of "a flash in the pan" but if you go to there web site, and look at the
first thing it say's at the top was very apt I thought.

You've done it again!!
After searching for that song,I finally found a site that had an MP3 of a song called "There must be Thousands" by The Quads. Had not heard that song since 1979!!
