If you've got an iPod (other MP3 players are available) you've probably ganged together some tracks to form a playlist (best of xx etc.) but does anyone here do themed playlists?
I've got a 'a day off ill from school' playlist which starts off with the Picture Box tv theme, has some cheesy classics like Summer by Billy Goldsboro and Angie Baby by Helen Reddy then segues into Rainbow and the Crown Court music for lunchtime with a clip from Words and Pictures. After that we have an afternoon selection like Gonna Make You a Star by David Essex and Blinded by the Light by Manfred Mann which goes into kids TV time with The Changes music and Magpie theme and ends up with Midnight at the Oasis by Maria Muldaur.
I've got a few others which also sum up other parts of my life gone by but my most massive one can run for the best part of a work day. It's full of all sorts of nonsense but never fails to cheer me up and ends with probably my favorite piece of music ever. For me it perfectly evokes a lunchtime with my Mum circa '71-'72. For some strange reason that only makes sense to me the compilation's called 'Transfer Lettering'. See how many you recognise:
