Don't laff, but one of the first singles I bought around 78-79, was 'One More Night' by Yellow Dog. Dunno what came over me, just liked the unusualness of the name of the band which I've never heard of since. But, I still remember a bit of the chorus - ...'Could-I stay...could I please stay? I'll do all the shopping. I'll do all the mopping. Please! Please! ...NO!!
Theres nothing wrong with digging up old subjects Andy, you and our other newbies and future members have just as much right as anyone else to share your memories. You should have seen the amount of digging I did when I started. And some threads can be merged together with no problem at all
Alex Lester played it last week on Radio 2. Was around 5.45 in the morning, specially requested by a listener (not you Andy?). I usually doze around that time of day, getting up for work around 6.00. Yellow Dog made me smile, a good start to the day then! He even played the very end bit when the phone rings. Top notch Alex, top notch Andy.
Anyone recall "Nervous wreck" from about the same time? Can't remember the artist at the minute, but the hook line involved a vampy girl cooing "I don't think so". On TOTP, they had a page three girl (Kelly St John) miming the line. I presume she wasn't part of the band, but looked very nice, even with her top on!
