Identify a song from these lyrics

I have had some lyrics swimming around my mind since childhood. I even have the tune.........wish I could sing it to you in my post! I may have remembered the words incorrectly and, as they don't make a lot of sense, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't quite right. I think the song is 70s but I suppose it could be earlier. I've Googled the words but come up with nothing.

"Don't say goodnight, midnight
You may turn into a pumpkin, oh no,
We've only just said hello"

I found the song by searching on YouTube. It's Goodnight Midnight (1970), by Clodagh Rogers. The only bit I remembered wrong was "oh no". It's actually "don't go".

Nice to be reminded of Clodagh too! She had a number of hits, all very catchy tunes.
