I heard this song on the radio when I was 9ish, and the guy never said the name of the song or the band.
So I've been looking for it since and never found it.

I loved the song so much that I managed to memorise some of the lyrics.
I know how the song goes, but since I can't play any instruments, I can't recreate it, so this is my best shot.

The lyrics goes something like this:

I have only just joined this website and just browsing through i hope i can be of help to your problem. Everyone would say roxette, but in december 1989 sonia released a song called 'listen to your heart' which was also a top ten hit for her, hope this is the one you are searching for caroline
