dont know if thread been started on these but i use to love the top trumps cards from the 70s 80s i remember haven the horror set with dracula on front and i always remembered that death was the best card to have so use to make sure i dealed this card to my self lol
anyone else have this collection and wha others did you have ????
these top trumps cards are fetching a mint on ebay wish i still got them now

Me & my brother had quite a few sets, some of which came from our neighbours, who gave use some old toys after their children got too old for them.

Almost all the sets seemed to have one card that would beat all the rest, so whoever received it was almost certain to win, even if all their other cards were the weaker ones.

for example you can lord of the rings top trumps.


they are something ive never bothered collecting.

My friend and I used to draw our own Horror characters from the two Horror Top Trumps sets, complete with Horror Rating, Physical Power etc. Spent a lot of time playing these and other Top Trumps back in the day (around 1980 I think).

couldn't believe my luck today...........opened a drawer at school and found loads of different games..........not sure who was more pleased, me or the kids

i assume there where loads of top trumps then.

im always amazed at how popular they are.

I had about 30 packs. Started off with Cars, Planes, Trains, Boats etc after getting 4 packs you could send away for a limited edition pack. I'm sure someone overheard me because I was always onto friends at school, "you could have these for footballers and cricketers"

I used to save my dinner money to buy a pack on Saturday morning in the Summer then work out which one was where, the strengths and weknesses of each card so I was ubeatable (Mwahahaha!)and the smell...Hmmmm! that new vinyl smell, gorgeous!.

I have bought several packs that I used to have when I was a kid back in the 70s.....

I am 45 now....and cant find anyone around to have a game with lol
