I think it was called a Gonk.

You could win Gonks at the fair the ones I remember were a bit more like a toilet roll covered in fur with stick on eyes lol

I remember Ookpik owls made from scraps of fur I think... there was a craze for them for awhile in the '70s.

All I ever had won for me at fairs were stuffies with bits of styrofoam fillings and posters.
