Plastic rugby ball with two long lines running through??
I've been trying to find and purchase the toy that i payed with as a kid..it was a red rugby shaped ball with two pieces of string threaded through the middle of it and all you did was move your hands apart to make it move along to the other person..if you weren't quick enough it would hit you on the knuckles..and really hurt!!!!!!!
Please can somene tell me what it as called...
Coincidence??? But up it pops again, Just feed through from the main page, a post about "Going Ball" lots of people in the other thread link I posted remembered that version too. https://forums.doyouremember.co.uk/r...oing-ball.html
So.. so far over the years its been called....
Streaker, Going Ball and also Zoom Ball.
Need help to identify an old rugby ball shaped game please ?
Moderators notice thread merge
I remember playing it late 70's/early 80's and it was two long pieces of nylon rope, with handles at both ends. There was a rugby ball shaped hard plastic device, which the rope had been threaded through.
The idea was that one player would pull apart their handles and the plastic 'rugby ball' would slide along to the other player, who then in turn did the same thing. The ball would slide back and forward between players.
Does anyone remember what it was called and if you can still get them ??
We've having a 'old school' sports day later this summer and this would be a great addition.
Well worth digging up, the thread generated a lot of interest, and a few regulars who still come in remembered it too.So they'll be interested in finding the name. Nice Find
I dont know what the name was but i have seen cheeper types in shops. The rugby ball is alot smaller. Have a look in pound type shops. I think thats where i saw one.
Think it probably had more than one name, and changed over the years too.
Yeah, I certainly remember that mine orange and had "Going" embossed on the side. My brothers and I when playing with it used to shout GOOooooiiiiinnnggggg" to each other as we played.
[Slinks away all embarassed at that revelation]
