Hi all! I just did a search for a game I had when I was in my early teens I'm 56 & still have this game,
Annie is right it is called a goyng it is orangey & has 2 lengths of marine cord & 4 blue plastic handles.
It was a promo from something like the old Ktel adverts & cost under a fiver. It has been so much fun over the years for me & the rest of the family that being at least 45/50 of us & they all know of it ...
    Great fun for hours ...

    P.S
I know this is a very old post but I just had to reply to it

    Rugby ball game

Does anyone remember a garden game, which was out roughly the same time as swingball.

You had a plastic rugby ball with a twin cord through the centre. At either end there was
    2 plastic grips.

    Any ideas. ???

Wow! Streaker!! That was great, apart from the fact I was always scared the 'ball' was gonna come off.

    for information thread merged.

I remember having a toy which looked like a plastic rugby ball with a hole drilled through the middle lenghtways.

There were two long nylon lines threaded through with handles on both ends.

Two people played by pulling apart their handles one player at a time to make the rugby ball zip along the line to the other person.

    Anyone?

Re: Can anyone help me find a toy......

oh how funny, i thought i would let you know that we only bought one of these last summer for my daughter - really reminded me of when i was a kid. We bought ours in Tesco, but I'm sure they sell them in Early Learning Centre in the summer months too....
...Then I saw that the original post was from 3 years ago, and it is all totally irrelevant now!! nevermind!

My grandparents got us one from Italy so it was known as the Italian game.
Did you ever try doing it with your legs instead?
We did play for hours with it but it was always tangled up next time you got it out even if you put it away carefully.
