Toy phone to phone

Does anyone remember toy phones connected by a bell wire several meters long (although probably measured in feet then!)?

As I remember, they had a flashing 'call' light on and came as a connected pair.

I have searched forums with little joy (Sixyten!!)

Thanks guys - these have brought back many memories of wiring these between rooms.

Both look familiar, maybe between our friends we played with both.

Another of those "just when I thought I'd remembered everything from my childhood, along comes this" type moments. My brother and I definitely had something very similar - I can hear the ring now! But these photos don't seem familiar.

Wee bit naughty of me but 60's version (just for comparison) and the fact it was probably still on sale well into the 70's

I remember a friend of the family had a set, & some of the cheaper 1980s walkie talkies were wired together.

We had the red ones in our house

ours are yellow with a light on the top but does any one know how to mend the they dont work any more help please

We had phones like that in the 70s, red ones, but they didn't look like the ones in the picture. They were in one piece and stood upright, and had no dial. A bit like a modern cordless landline phone, but bigger.

It was useful if you ill in bed - you could use it to call for service.

We had these (me and my older brother), I seem to remember ours being a Brown colour, that 80's brown, that a lot of toys were back then and that the wire would stretch from our bedroom to the sitting room.. Wow how we thought we had it all back then.

Apple..... who needs an I Phone??
