He was a major talent, Canada was very proud of him. Like many comedians he could also do straight dramatic characters extremely well. Wish he was still around.

John Candy had a small role in Home alone, but he never had a scene with Macaulay Culkin.

They were together in Uncle Buck.

His last meal was spaghetti then he went to bed... and never woke up again. He proved in JFK that he could do drama as well as comedy. He would have made an interesting Doctor Who.

Funnily enough I was trying to think about Uncle Buck when it was on ITV after the Big Ben bongs in the early hours of New Year's Day - I was skimming through the Sky Digital channels on Christmas Day and saw half of it, but kicked myself for not setting the recorder, but I was glad when I saw it was on ITV itself a week later.

I saw some of it on Sky Movies a few years previously, and the scene where someone wears jodhpurs in the front room came to mind but I couldn't remember the name of the film - I knew that it wasn't something to do with horse-riding or anything like that, but I was pleased when I saw the film and that scene which put it together.

I still can't get images out of my head from when he played in the film Spaceballs. He was his own best friend a cross between man and dog.

King Ralph was John Goodman, another fat American actor.

I remember being very shocked at him dying, especially as it was when a few other celebs passed away in a short time.

In the previous dacade he had been in a lot of films, often with an outstanding performance, even it was only for a few scenes.

I think he great in brewsters millions so funny

He passed away about 20 years ago I think to young at 45
