Central heating advert?

Darren's recent post about hating getting out of the shower has reminded me of an ad which must have been for central heating or double glazing or something. Anyway it showed a cold house with people shivering and a Voiceover saying things like "Baltic in the bathroom, siberia in your slippers" (cue woman reaching a foot out of bed to rummage for a slipper and pulling it back in). It ended with Calypso music and everyone dancing around a now warm house with the line "Possibly Hawaii all over the house!" Anybody else remember this?

I remember it but cant think what it was for. Economy 7 ?

I remember this too!! The song sprang straight back into my mind as I read Tricky's post. I'm with Heather on the Economy 7 line of thinking.

Yes, the ad sounds familiar, and Economy 7 could well be it, and I will attest to how cold bathrooms were before central heating.

I think my Aunt & Uncle had Economy 7, I remember they used to wash their clothes overnight when electricity was cheap.

Off topic, but it's ironic that the thread that I started about WFLA in the Food and Drink section a couple of weeks ago (and got no replies), has the advert that I was referring to, in the same YouTube clip seen above - as we can see there.

Back on topic, I do remember a Economy 7 advert from the mid 1980s featuring "Acacia Avenue" and a row of houses in a residential street with an insight into what the residents do when they were showering etc.

My father had gas central heating installed in 1979.
Don't know how cheap gas was, but North Sea gas was peaking in production.
