Another question about public information films....

Does anybody remember a p.i.f. about the dangers of letting children sit in the front seat of a car? There's a very sad-looking man walking slowly towards a swingpark. The voiceover alternates between a coroner's report being read out, and an excited child's voice saying things like 'Can I sit in the front where Mummy sits?' The man has obviously just lost his daughter in an accident. When he reaches the park, he sits on a swing and a solitary tear runs down his face before falling to the ground.

It broke my little teenage heart, but no-one remembers it. Can anyone help?

oh wow yeah, the kite one worked on me too, never went near pylons.Which means the advert did a good job really. also think I saw the frisby one, where he goes to retrieve it, scary stuff.

I remember the one where some kids are playing with a kite near some big pylons and there's this scarey 70's incidental music..then the kite gets tangled in the wires...there's a bang and the kid's dead...also one kinda the same involving a boat mast...I was well scared of those ad's and wouldn't walk near pylons because of them.

They showed us the frisbee/substation one at first school (circa 1987) and I seem to remember the kid was wearing FLARES and they caught fire!!!!???

Charley Says was amazing...they don't have enough Stranger danger stuff on TV or at school now.

My mum remembers the horrible nuclear bomb ones.

I've seen that too. They've taken away the mans knotted handkerchief round his head and replaced it with a burberry cap! They also ring on a mobile phone now too!

i remember the original public information films, petunia was in the keep britain tidy campaign and i think flo was in the learn to swim information film.... but i could be wrong.

they started re-running these a couple of years ago( slightly updated)
