  • All Those Saucy Confessions Movies Starring Mr Askwith

Did any of you like all those saucy confessions movies, which starred Robin Askwith and which were so popular back in the 70s?

Confessions of A Window Cleaner seemed to be the most popular one.

They were pretty naff to be honest. They didn't have the charm of the Carry On films and weren't particularly funny either.

i liked them, my parents used to have 3 of the 4 on VHS, the only one i've not seen is Pop Performer.

i found them pretty funny, especially Holiday Camp, that one was hilarious, me and my sister still quote lines from it today lol

I can remember seeing some of the confession films in the early days of us getting a video recorder.Usually when mum was on holiday as no doubt she would not agree with us lads watching them.I can clearly remember finding them really funny and laughed most of the way through them.

I did read that they were based on a series of books, & not all of them were adapted.

They were. At the very end of the last movie of the series (Holiday Camp) there's a line about "Been having trouble with my plumbing," or something similar, a reference to what was to be the next story in sequence. But it never got made.
