Some good ones there, but no list is complete without Elf!

They are great to see at Christmas, even if they are not about Christmas - my list would be:

      1) White Christmas (Bing himself singing)
      2) Mary Poppins (the magic of Julie Andrews makes it worthwhile)
      3) The Sound of Music (again, the magic of Julie Andrews makes it worth while)
      4) Home Alone (when Macaulay Culkin used to literally steal the show)
      5) Uncle Buck (loved that jodhpur scene in the film)
      6) Grease (hence my avatar - and it will be on this year as well!)
      7) The Never-ending Story (that will be on this year again as well)
      8) Who Framed Roger Rabbit (where else would you see Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny on screen together?)
      9) Carry on Again Doctor (Valerie Leon, wherefore art thou?)
      10) Supergirl (not the Sky One series, but the film from 1984 which hasn't been seen on TV for a few years now - I think it deserves another showing somewhere...)
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
      I'm having so much fun
      My lucky number's one
      Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!

I saw a sort of director's cut of this awhile back that was longer than the original release. I think it had a lot more scenes with Peter Cook and Petr O'Toole in for one (okay, two) thing(s).

Christmas movies I prefer would be kids' ones. I am not thrilled to have little on that is not Christmas related for a month or more. It's gotten beyond that though as now there are channels doing 'Christmas in summer' stretches showing the same things yet again.

Supergirl is like a 105 minute advert for Lee Jeans in a way - Hart Bochner wears a pair himself, and they even get credited at the end of the film.

Talking about children's films - I loved Disney's Dumbo as a kid when it was premiered on ITV in 1986.

I saw Santa Claus the Movie at either the Odeon or ABC in 1985 - when I watch it on television I often get taken back in my mind to the cinema in 1985 and the kids laughing at various bits.

NOTHING from the past 15 years. Most recent favourite would be Polar Express 2004.

Christmas without Scrooge would be unthinkable.

A bit of a toughie in May but I'm going for Mary Poppins.

But would Christmas without Scrooge be a lot better, or just less traditional?
