my favourite film of the 80s...well of all time for me has to be LABYRINTH!

Yep thats me shouting it! Love it soooo much!

I also loved heathers (not sure if that was 80s), breakfast club, ferris day off, lost boys, dirty dancing, gremlins, ghostbusters, goonies, wargames

oh and dont laugh...whos that girl!

Thats how good the 80s was. I cant really sit and watch films cos i get bored but 80s films kept me sit down!

Oh and i really liked that bond film with grace jones in it. She is soo cool and freaky!

    1. I am with Flash Gordon....I loove that movie still plus the soundtrack by Queen stills rocks

    2. Say Anything

    3. This is embarrasing but I loved the "Breakin" movies. (Breakin and Breakin II Electric Boogaloo) I loved dancing to it when I was young.

    4. Anything with Molly Ringwald, Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, Michael J. Fox, all of the heavy hitters back then.

    5. Clue-I noticed a few people mentioned this. This movie still cracks me up.

Raiders (ah, all the Jones movies), Witness, Blade Runner, Bronco Billy, The Killer, Manhunter.

And one of the most underrated movies ever, Firefox!

    And Conan the Barbarian.

    No Tron love out there?

I like Blade Runner and if my list continued it'd probably be in the next 5. It's a once in a while watch whereas the others i've listed i can watch time after time and never get bored. I don't quite have that feeling for Blade Runner.

    Flash Gordon!!!!
    (obviously)
Great thread, I don't know where to start.
I remember being in a pub with a bunch of big tough lads and Labyrinth was mentioned and they all melted and said "Great film, love it!" Classic.
No one has mentioned Blade Runner! Bad on first release, a revalation with the directors cut, now spoiled by directorial fiddling (get one of the middle cuts).
I also love Dune (yeah I know!) but I usually watch the extended - or what I call "The What Could Have Been" version - and that's a thread in itself.
Ghost Busters - brilliant. Bought a copy t'uther day.
Lost Boys - "Cry-y-y little sister!"
    Stand By Me - superb.
Oh, and I thought Robocop2 wasn't bad actually! (Wasn't it John Malcovich as baddie?)
    Aliens: feckin A
For me, Breakfast Club will always be synonymous with "Hot Meat Injection!"

Robocop an underated film because mainly of the inferior sequals, and tv series, and even a cartoon show, and ED2O9 was way kool as robots/droids go, it was more the way the Judge Dredd movie should have gone, and that was poor.

There are far to many to single one out. Some of the best films of the 80's are:

    The Lost Boys
    The Goonies
    Aliens
Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
    Robocop
    Top Secret
    Airplane 1 & 2
    Outrageous Fortune
    Bachelor Party
    Police Academy

I only watched Ferris Bueller for the first time a couple of years ago and could not for the life of me understand why people rave about this movie. It was AWFUL. To me, having a wild time on my "day off" as a teenager would not include going to a museum and having sanwiches in a tea room. SAAAAAAAAAAAD
