Re: Supermarionation
I've seen all apart from Joe 90 (did the BBC repeat this in the 1990s?) & would also go with Thunderbirds.
Captain Scarlet was a little more advanced technologically, & was turned up a notch or 2 on the grittiness scale, though did suffer with the lack of an end episode. The Trickster On The Roof

Re: Supermarionation
Wow MB, I want a model Interceptor now! Saw one in Leicester last week and knew I should have bought it!
I used to own an Interceptor handbag (reckon I was 6 - wish I still had that!) I still also own an Angel Interceptor handbag mirror, it has a picture of Destiny Angel on the back, it is pink plastic and very useable today.

Re: Supermarionation
Captain Scarlett. No contest. Gritty, violent for a kids show and best of all it had Captain Black - the overreactive fool who was supposedly Spectrums top agent at one time who stupidly ignited the flame for the war with the Mysterons!
The guy who played Strayker in UFO did Captain Blue's voice. Francis Matthews who did Scarlett based his voice on an impression he could do of Cary Grant - it was that which got him the role. As a kid I hoped Black would be freed from Mysteron control and become a goodie again...
