We all had our favourite.......were you a Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray, Terrahawks or Joe 90 kid?
Although some were made in the 60's I remember watching them in the 70's onwards.

I personally can't choose. I loved them all except for Terrahawks.

I liked them all. Perhaps Thunderbirds just gets my vote though.

I've seen all apart from Joe 90 (did the BBC repeat this in the 1990s?) & would also go with Thunderbirds.

Captain Scarlet was a little more advanced technologically, & was turned up a notch or 2 on the grittiness scale, though did suffer with the lack of an end episode.

I agree. There was also the issue about the scale of the head. The Scarlet puppets had their heads in scale with the bodies. In Thunderbirds and Stingray, the heads were larger, in a kind of caricature; which I preferred.

Captain Scarlet for me! I just loved the Angels and their futuristic Angel Interceptor craft! Also they had girl pilots which I thought was fantastic, and their characters were so classy and chic, some had long hair and were very cool and sophisticated.

Yes they were pretty neat. I had an Airfix Angel Interceptor on my bookshelf for years.

Wow MB, I want a model Interceptor now! Saw one in Leicester last week and knew I should have bought it!

I used to own an Interceptor handbag (reckon I was 6 - wish I still had that!) I still also own an Angel Interceptor handbag mirror, it has a picture of Destiny Angel on the back, it is pink plastic and very useable today.

...but she had a lovely song: "Why can't you whisper the words that my heart is longing to hear."

Would Star Fleet count as this was made for Saturday mornings even if it was Japanese orginally?

I loved watching them all, although i never saw terrahawks. It's a difficult one this,as for me,it's a toss up between stingray amd thunderbirds.I think it's Stingray for me,as it was set in a blue sea exotic location and the songs were glorious.

Captain Scarlett. No contest. Gritty, violent for a kids show and best of all it had Captain Black - the overreactive fool who was supposedly Spectrums top agent at one time who stupidly ignited the flame for the war with the Mysterons!

The guy who played Strayker in UFO did Captain Blue's voice. Francis Matthews who did Scarlett based his voice on an impression he could do of Cary Grant - it was that which got him the role. As a kid I hoped Black would be freed from Mysteron control and become a goodie again...

Can only really remember watching Terrahawks, but not much. I liked Zelda and those ball things.
