Yes, Pipkins also occupied that lunchtime slot, though by the time Button Moon began, it was in its death throes.

Remember Mr and Mrs Spoon's daughter, Tina Teaspoon?

Yes that sounds right, it ran from about 1982 to about 88.

Very creative? The BBC (I believe it was) was at a loss what to commission next? Then some bright spark (NOT) said "How about a button on a black canvas? We could call it button moon!!"

And thus Button Moon was born lol

I reckon the BBC had spent their budget for that year so they wanted a simple kids show very cheap. 'Very Cheap' being sod all/free lol

SO CREATIVE TO CREATE CHARACTERS OUT OF EVERYDAY HOUSEHOLD OBJECTS.

The vaccum cleaner that lived on Button Moon was a bit weird IIRC.

I must say I never thought Mr. Spoon's head would be such a hotly debated subject! I would say It's an enameled milk pan with a soup bowl on top, but those who made the actual program don't even seem 100% sure. One of life's great mysteries I guess

It wasn't narrated by Davidson. Robin Parkinson narrated. Davidson and then wife Sandra Dickinson sung the theme song.

Mr Spoon's head was made of a saucepan with handle for nose and a plate for his hat.

i always thought his head was a pan, but apparently not, it was two 'dishes'
