    Show about a guy building a Rolls Royce out of wood?

    Yeah I'm sure the thread title doesn't do the show justice but that's the memory I have.

    It was a daytime (during school hours) show during the early to mid 80's and it had a guy who definitely had skills in carpentry . I think he was building a white vintage Rolls Royce Silver Ghost. I'm not sure if it was a kit job or he was repairing a damaged one but the general vibe of the show was that he was 'building' the car rather than just fixing it. At the very least he was working on the body of the car if not the mechanics of it.

    There was extensive carpentry involved in the ones I saw anyway. I seem to remember he'd spend an entire episode plaining pieces of wood to make sideboards for the car etc. Then he'd attach his work to the car, have a look at it and then it would be 'come back next time' etc. It was definitely a series of some sort. Slow paced, daytime tv.

    Does this ring a bell for anyone?

    (I'm about 90% sure it was a Rolls Royce and about 50% sure it was Silver Ghost). 100% sure it was a vintage car like the RRSG anyway

      It sounds like one of Richard Blizzard's shows, one of them was on Sunday afternoons IIRC.

        Actually now that you mention Richard Blizzard that might have been the connection. Perhaps the show was about a guy building a scaled down wooden toy car and using the real version for reference.

        Whatever it was there was definitely a real vintage car featured. Was this the kind of thing Blizzard might have done?

            Oh God. I remember this. Spot on Huggie. I always remember he kept going on and on about the 'chassis' to the Roller...he looked a bit like Paddy in Emmerdale but with curly hair....hated the show. Oh the pain, the pain! Its coming back to me!

            He also built a wooden fort and had Britains Cowboys, Indians and Cavalry on display.

                I remember in one programme he made a carrying case for a home computer, a bit easier than the Silver Ghost.
