My Mum and Dad hated the HE MAN toys, so I guess it influenced me a lot, though I did get to watch the cartoon - I did hate the same bits of roto-scoped animation used continually - i.e. HE MAN punching someone in the face to camera, the transformation sequence, HE MAN running up and then twisting at the waist looking around etc...it became very noticable. Roto - scoping is when they film someone doing an action and then use that probably tracing over the frames to create the animation sequence...Incidentally, Alan Oppenheimer did the voices of BOTH HE MAN and SKELETOR....I also do a rather spiffing impression of the pair!

I am unsure of the name, sorry but I there was this cartoon on TV from about 1990 to 1994 roughly and it was a Car that used to go beep, beep by being driven about a City/Town etc with no other audio/talking etc. It was only for about 2 minutes, no more than 4 minutes if that. It used to really annoy me, sorry I can not recall the name.

I really hated Spider. It was never on long, but it was seriously bad.

Actually Alan Oppenheimer only voiced Skeletor, He-Man's voice was done by John Erwin. Alan Oppenheimer did voice Battle Cat though, as well as Man-At-Arms. I noticed the constant use of stock footage as well, even as a kid!

as a kid watching tv on i think itv there was a comedy sketch show cant think what it was called or even who who was in it but i have a memory of a cartoon segment in it called (i think) badly drawn man (ive tried googling that but either get the character from another kids telly show jamie and the magic ball or the singer)which featured tons of cartoon cliches i seem to recall the main character saying to his side kick something like "quick put those lamps along that wall" then he chased the villian running passed a repeated scene of lamps standing against a wall (mirroring cheap cartoons of the time that looped scenery in chase scenes )

Thanks for that N3llyo, made me laugh . My most hated cartoons were the very American quippy ones. Yogi Bear and Top Cat etc.

I was brushing my teeth like usual this morning and Charlie Chalk popped into my head. I absolutely hated that show with a passion. So so stupid.

Yeah, British Cartoons were on the whole...boring comparable to Yank ones...but Hannah Barbera certainly did reuse bits of animation over and over in their toons - spot on with that Cheapo Cartoon Man one...lol.

for me both where good and bad equally.

I didn't like American shows very much. Oddly I like them a lot now, America really has the market sewn up when it comes to producing cartoons.

I think it was due to bad american cartoons as a kid that other cartoons from japan like Marine boy,kum kum the stone age boy,and battle of the planets just seemed so exciting fresh and new.Even old walt disney cartoons had become stale by the 70's and as a modern 70's kid we always wanted the best and newest thing on telly.We were pretty much like modern kids wanting the next best thing,but unlike kids today we had less choice of what to watch.

I couldn't stick Dogtanian and the Muskahounds. Theme tune was so irritating.

Scooby doo is starting to grate as well. I used to love it when I was a kid but now for some reason when I watch it, Shaggy overuses the word "like" (one of my pet hates) which I don't remember from before. I took my daughter to see the Top Cat movie and Spook was the same. Does my head in.

Shaggy's multiple 'like's are more obvious and irritating now. I suppose it's because he's meant to be a laid back hippy dude, but it grates! Velma doesn't seem to lose her glasses as much as I thought either.

With Scoody Doo it was not shaggy that gets me but Scrappy.I really did not go for all that puppy power stuff.Why ruin a half decent cartoon with a character that done nothing to enhance the show.At that time it almost became the Scrappy doo show.They really overplayed him a bit too much.I think they corrected that a bit in the first Scooby Doo film with Scrappy turning out to be the bad guy.

I suppose there was only a few cartoons I could not watch as a kid.Wait till your father gets home is another one I found hard to sit still to.As I have got older I still watch cartoons of my choice on a regular basis,but more and more of the ones that were around when I was a kid seem to annoy me for one reason or another for little things I did not take any notice of when young.
