  • Brookside question

This just popped into my head.

Does anyone a character on Brookside who used to say the word 'smickels' a lot. It was smickels or something similar sounds.

WRT what it meant, I'm not sure but I think he said it whenever he liked something?

I remember someone in Why Don't You using the word smickels a lot, mkaing it sound like it was something great, but I can't remember if we ever found out what it was.

      Re: Brookside question

According to the urban dictionary it means

      1) To be really good.
      2) As replacement to okay or great.

Note: Usually said with half-hearted meaning or sarcasm OR with little or no interest in the subject of the conversation.

It sounds a bit Hebrew or Yiddish.

Oh I forgot to add that it was probably early-90s if I had to tie it down to an era. Anyone remember who it was? I think he was a youngish character (probably a teen and the son in some family of characters).
