    Re: Programmes from the past

According to the TV Cream feature on films based on sitcoms Man About The House is one of the better films, while George & Mildred is one of the worse.

This is now offline but I have a text copy on my hard drive.

I used to hate Going For Gold!

The buzzers never seemed to work and the European contestants always seemed to get questions about British subjects that they had little knowledge about.

The Price Is Right was really funny, it's clear the audience were told to whoop it up, it's so false - British people just aren't comfortable doing that so they looked daft

with the price iws right i always forget brucie did it.
i remember it better when lweslie crowther did it.

going for gold was funny cause a lot of the time it was hard to understand what people where saying as contestants where from all over europe.

they also had man about the house the film on a few weeks back which had george and mildred in it.

    G AND M IS CLASS.

Bullseye seems to be very popular according to BARB, but I'm surprised Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is - am I the only one who doesn't like that show?

It's great that these series are shown on freeview, but some of them - 'The Sweeney' in particular, do seem to get edited down with a hacksaw. Owning the boxsets, you tend to notice what gets left out of the edited freeview versions.

I should add that I also like Challenge, especially when they're showing '3-2-1', 'Bullseye', 'Bob's Full House' and - for a short while - 'Interceptor'. Trouble is, whenever I go on Challenge at the moment, it always seems to be a classic 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?', which is a bit recent for nostalgic purposes.
