Re: juliet bravo ?
The early Juliet Bravo programmes were very brave, dealing with difficult issues. One stars Jeff Rawle as a strange loner who gets falsely accused of molesting a schoolboy, I can't imagine many cop shows of the time would take on such a challenging issue - it dealt with the prejudices of the police officers, the difficulties of the guy accused and how the Inspector got to the bottom of why the boy was lying.
A lot of very good actors were in it at one stage or another, it's so underrated.

Re: juliet bravo ?
I've got the entire 6 series on DVD box sets, and recently I've started watching some of them again. I think both Stephanie Turner (Jean Darbley) and Anna Carteret (Kate Longton) did an equally good job as Hartley Police's Inspector over the three series they did each. They still stack up well today, covering key issues such as youth crime, unemployment, drugs, etc. but with the passage of time, a nice retro feel - the cars in particular. Mk2 Escorts and Mk4 Cortinas were the Police cars of choice (mainly Mk2 Escorts though) for the first 4 series, with Jean's personal car being a Mini (and later a Metro). Austin Maestro panda cars were used in the last couple of series with Kate also driving a Maestro as her own car."We're the Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner!"

Re: juliet bravo ?
The title sequence featured the a Rover SD1, a car used by many police forces in the early 1980s, especially the 3528cc V8s.
I'm not sure if any were used in the programme itself.
TV Cream mentioned that once Alexei's Sayle's Stuff started with an announcement that it had been cancelled & replaced by any episode of Juliet Bravo.
A few minutes of an actual episode were then shown, which ended with Alexei walking onto a mockup of the police station set & announcing the start of his show. The Trickster On The Roof
