      Re: American Programmes 70s-90s

It seemed to be common for some films to get a TV spin-off, normally with a different cast.

Geroge Clooney played supporting roles in a lot of different things before ER, including Murder She Wrote & The Facts Of Life.

Miami Vice was good for pre-fame cameos, including Wesley Snipes, Julia Roberts & Bruce Willis.

Hill Street Blues and St Elsewhere were miles ahead of other cop and medical dramas back then, and any many ways were blueprints for the best of today's.

I used to love those two shows, and also Cagney & Lacey... a touch of soap sometimes but very high quality!

I always thought it was set in the early 60s - post-rock 'n' roll, pre-Beatles - like the film it was inspired by: American Graffiti
Time flies like the wind, fruit flies like bananas - go figure!

I loved The Six Million Dollar Man. Then Starsky and Hutch.
Favourite comedies were Taxi and no one mentioned Barney Miller.
