  • Long lost Episodes of The Likely Lads found

I am unsure if it is about 7 that has been found, but at least a few - this is great news I think.

Even though it is now well dated I always loved T.L.L ... with mostly it being good clean honest fun and not Cheesy or Blue like in-particular Rising Damp and Steptoe and Son - which is tricky to pick which I hate most. Probably Rising Damp just sneaks it

Anyway I hope they are put on the Telly ASAP, as both Bowlam and Bewes was fantastic in T.L.L and cast perfectly - even though Bews was a Yorkshireman he was still very good in his role as a Geordie. Just a shame that they never made it up after Rodney's death i think. I hope this gives hope for other lost Epi's of Comedy, like the "mystical un-confirmed for certain 13 Epi of Fawlty Towers" which ia m quite convinced that "Auntie" is'nt being transparant and 100% honest with us over. It is similar too - I hope bread amongst others may have further episodes after Series 7 (or i live in hope)

Some 1966 episodes of The Likely Lads were on Talking Pictures last year - a pity that they were in monochrome.

Rising Damp is probably the most repeated ITV sitcom, and as long as Yorkshire TV had its franchise, it would always be seen in one way or another.

All of the original episodes of The Likely Lads were made in black & white, but all the episodes of Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads were in colour.

I can first remember seeing Rising Damp when Channel 4 repeated them in the 1990s, even when they loosened ties with ITV they still screened a few old ITV shows, Home To Roost was another I remember.

In the 1990s ITV shown old episodes of Rising Damp in that 5.15 pm post-spot spot on Saturdays, roughly the same time as Are You Being Served? and Dad's Army were on BBC 1, and Yorkshire TV put their the current end cap at the end of the episodes, rather than the ones which mentioned "(c) Trident Television Ltd 1975" on them that Channel 4 repeated on Thursdays or Fridays circa 1991-1992.

Anyway, back on topic (apologies), I know that the original Likely Lads were in black and white and Whatever Happened To... were in colour - in which the feature film spin-off made in around 1976 was as well. Didn't they do a recent revival with Ant and Dec starring? (Any loose connect with the North East was more than apparent there of course).
