Re: Auf Wiedersehen Pet
"We should've took the train."
"You'll be grateful of this when we get there, we can see a bit of Germany in this!"
"I've always wanted to push a clapped-out Zephyr round the Bavarian Alps!"
A classic series, I've always liked it. I was going to mention about the building site scenes in Series 1 being filmed in Elstree on what is now the Eastenders set - but someone else beat me to it. A now-classic Sealink ferry adorned the opening titles of the first episode as Dennis, Neville and Oz crossed the channel on their way to Dusseldorf. Joe Fagin sung the opening and closing themes to the first two series. Mark Knopfler sang the closing theme ('Wye Aye Man') to the third series.
"Danke schon!"
"Aye, and Donkey Sh*te to you too!"

Re: Auf Wiedersehen Pet
Great series. It was repeated recently (about 3 months ago) on freeview on the "Yesterday" channel but it was on at 10am so was heavily cut. I'm looking forward to rewatching it again and hopefully as it's on later it won't be cut so much.
Great series with many memorable characters. I was watching "Bullseye" on the Challenge channel recently and the guest dart thrower was Pat Roach talking about filming the new series of Auf Wiedershen and filming Indiana Jones. For all his many roles he'll always be "Bomber" to me.
Cheers,
Finnthedude.
