    The MOST frightening thing I saw was the old (probably from 50's early 60's) films of doing Gymnastics 'wrong'....anguished faces, ambulances, hospitals, eek

    The b&w film we were shown in secondary school made me not want to go near the wall bars, beams, or anything in the gym.....REALLY SCARY.
    But thankfully nothing too bad ever happened in real life to us.

    we would watch it o
    n a friday in school lights off which made me doze off.

    Me too Darren mate - if I didn't know you better I'd say we went to the same School!

    These Episodes "made" School I think as did all the other related things like Promotional Videos about Road Safety etc too. Great memories indeed

    I recall this too Darren. In-effect most Schools Programmes merged into one I recall/remember (even non ones like Play School) though it wasn't a Schools one!

    Used to watch Look and Read when I was at first school in the late 70s. I was a bit scared of that disembodied head thing!.

    Here's some links I have for schools TV;

    I think I can recalla bout as far as 1995-1997 Richard. Sure though without doubt these programmes made 'Daytime TV" especially favourites like Stop, Look and listen" etc!! Though unless things change drastically such TV wont be seen ever again I feel.

    I wish that schools Programmes had lasted past the start of the 1990s! They sure showed how made school subjects educational and gave a real insight on them/life in general too!

    It would be good to know if any Programmes from BBC2 or Channel 4 or BBC1 and ITV (if they had them) still existed. More so it'd be amazing if a member on actually had his/her School filmed in for such stories ... now that would be something!!

    Going to work was a good programme. It was on around lunchtimes during the 60s and early 70s. The idea was to show young people what it was like to work in various environments.

    I remember well in the heyday of Schools Programmes on BBC2 and C4, they used to be on from 9 in the Morning until about 2pm .... they'd be just as occasional as School itself I thought at the time (and still do). I think it was a travesty that they got axed from TV, in the daytime, really educational full stop.

    Does anyone remember 'Through the dragons eye' with the terrifying crow man thing, and geordie racer, from the late 80's? They were both series we watched at school. : )

    I remember "Watch" too. We used to count down the clock that appeared before it.
