falcon crest:anyone else think it was fab!?

Hi everybody: just joined the forum and wanted to know if anybody out there was into this great TV show from the 80s

A real gem that was often overlooked as it lay in the shadows of Dallas and Dynasty

I was watching the re-runs on Sky up until last year when we changed to another TV supplier: I think I got up to the end of season 5

I have heard it will be coming out on DVD soon so....

a) anybody else out there remembers it/is a fan?
b) anybody currently watching more re-runs on Sky (think it is on CBS Drama)
c) anybody know of the release DVD date?

...oh and anybody else think that William R Moses was a dreamboat!

My favourite US soap was Knots Landing, used to watch it on BBC1 of a Monday afternoon

Can just about remember Falcon Crest but never really got into it.

Found season 1 on Play.com, if you have a multi region DVD player you might want to buy it?

I only ever saw one episode of any of those American soaps and that was the episode of Dallas when J.R. got shot. They never appealed to me at all.

Not sure if it counts as a US soap, but I agree Frasier was wonderful - best comedy ever for me.

I'm afraid Falcon Crest past me by. I mean, I knew of its existence but never really watched it. It was Dallas for me. I was a huge fan.

The other "Super Soap" from that time that my Mum liked was The Thorn Birds.

I was also a fan of dallas and have been getting all the seasons on dvd.I cant wait until september heard that they are bringing out season 13 then

The Thorn Birds was a mini-series rather than a soap. Richard Chamberlain was quite nice in that.

I didn't watch Falcon Crest, but loved Dallas and did watch Knots Landing for a while.
I did not like Dynasty at all.

i voted for dallas as my fave.

but also loved dynasty.

dallas was ruined after they brought bobby back after he died.
messed up the entire previous series leading up to bobbys death.

And if you want to change your DVD player to multi region just google "DVD hack" and then quote your DVD model and number. The instructions are weird but it does work.
