Re: Blue Peter
Me too; though Purves, Noakes and Judd also represents the time I watched the show regularly. I liked Lesley Judd a lot. I loved her gentle approach, her voice and her smile.

The Haunting is just fantastic. The bit when the door starts bulging and you find yourself wondering what's doing it...Originally posted by Flash Gordon View PostNot sure I've seen the original. Although I'm sure I've seen a few crappy re-makes.
Reminds me of one of my all time best Horrors "The Haunting"
The banging on the wall...
Or when Eleanor tells Theo to stop squeezing her hand so tight. Only Theo is nowhere near her.

LOLOLOL!! HAAHAHAHAHAAAH!! Stopit.........Originally posted by soapy View PostBy pizza slice, i assume you mean the implement used to cut it, rather than as i first thought, an actual slice of pizza. That would rank as probably the worst weapon in TV and Film history

I love salems lot (original, not the remake). The scariest part is when Jason hears the rocking chair upstairs. We've all had moments when we've heard something upstairs.

Salem's Lot - terrifying. Have the disc from the States and really should get around to seeing it again.
In the unnerving arena, there was an episode of Tales of the Unexpected where an inventor made a microphone that translated the sounds made by plants. At one point he hears pained squeals as a neighbour picks flowers; the episode ends just as he is about to listen to a tree as he is about to hit it with an axe.

The abominable Dr Phibes. The nurse who has her face eaten by locusts while she was asleep. Had real problems sleeping after that.

Re: TV that scared you.
It was part of the Saturday night play season and it had a cast list and a 'written by' credit in the Radio Times. How much more advertising does it need? The poor old beeb can't be blamed because people are too thick to read and jump on a Daily Mail shock-horror campaign .Originally posted by Woffski View PostGhost watch has to be the winner, PIPES ....PIPES !!!!!!
I still cant believe they didnt "Advertise" it as a work of fiction instead of letting everyone believe it was a "live" documentory.
If it wasnt for the bit at the end with i think Michael Parkinson saying theres gremlins in the works and the funny stuff happening on screen i would probably still be thinking it was real.
Mad stuff

Re: TV/Films That Scared You.
One thing that used to scare me when I was about 5 or 6 was a car advert where a (black?) car was driving through a forest at night and you saw an owl, a Knight or something...Might have been a panther as well (possibly?). It was all set to a rather dark classical piece of music as well...
Can't remember what car it was for though.
