    Re: Neighbours

When I think of Guy Pierce I immediately think of Priscilla queen of the Desert, aswell as Mike from Neighbours.

I used to go home for lunch when at Primary school to see abit of Neighbours - would only catch the first 5 mins before I had to get back to school. My sister and I were so into it that we had Neighbours sweatshirts, magazine, books, sure there was a sticker album at one point too. We even watched other Oz programmes like Sons & Daughters, Prisoner cell block H, and always a few Neighbours characters popped up in The Sullivans.

My favourites were Helen, Bronwyn, Scott, Henry, Madge and Harold. Can't say I've managed to watch it much in the last few years - it's not the same as the good old days.

Yep, still in it and still lovely. There's been a few nice characters over the years. Bronwyn, Sarah? (Lou Carpenters daughter), Kerry Mangle but none can compare to Holly Valance. (That's one Valance i'd love to see covering my bed). Sorry, couldn't resist.

I never fancied anyone from Neighbours, not even the heart throbs like Scott, Henry and Brad.

                      Re: Neighbours

That seemed to be a real cliche in the 1980s of a plainish woman wearing glasses & tried up hair, who would suddenly become glamorus when removing them.

Often in slow motion with some dramatic music playing.

                        Re: Neighbours

I used to love Neighbours "back in the day". I have tried to watch it since it moved to C5, but as much as it is entering a new generation, it will never be like it was for me from 1989 to 2000 etc. They just lost too many great characters who no longer was in it, like Julie, Pam, Doug, Gabby, Cody and Brad - though I can give credit to the the Kennedy's as a terrific replacement family for the Willis'. They have defenitly stood the test of time, but so many great characters like Cheryl, Lauren and Brett/Darren were lost as well to make me like it like I used to.

My last favourite spell would be when Lynn was still married to Joe (and Holly Valance was still in Neighbours) before she married Paul Robinson and the Ruth/Lance era and Lance's Sister - i've forgot her name. This is where it ended for me I think - after the Robinson's had all stated to leave/or left, though there was some good highlights like Sarah Beaumont's affair with Karl - that was truly a storyline that had people guessing, back in the day I recall before the advent of major storyline leak's etc.

i hear what you say mate but there are still a few characters in it that have been there a long time.

characters like toadfish, lou, and susan and karl and paul although he was not in it for a few yrs.
ive watched if from the very start.

                          anyone remember max.

i thought the story with pauls two sons was a cracker.

                            Re: Neighbours

I also love Neighbours back in the day (87-93), I've never really watched it since it moved to C5 but I doubt it will be as good as the old days. I recently bought a few of the Neighbours DVD's and they brought back some memmories, good ones, Scot and Charlenes wedding, Tod being knocked over. I really dont think peolpe remember how gripped the youth of the UK were in the 80's over Neighbours and how it became such a massive part of our lives, I doubt there will ever be a show again that has the same effect on such a massive audiance.

One of the best back in its day.

I really got into at the same time, during that time (mostly before Kylie & Jason left) any big event was the talk of school the next day.

Eventually I was too busy with school work & exams to follow it.

but its more popular here in the uk than it is in australia.

maybe its not as good now as it was up until say 95.
but its still very good you still have paul in it one of the originals.

i like it as much now as i ever did.
u should try getting into again u just might like it.
