Mrs Merton & Malcolm was given a harsh reception, but I loved it.

I found it OK, but after the Royle Famiy was an unexpected hit it seemed a backwards step.

But if you pronounce it to rhyme with hussy, it sounds like something full of pus!

I remember there was a good programme about what went wrong with Eldorado a few years ago.

The Glam Metal Detectives (BBC2 1995)

This was an oddball mashup of sketch & sitcom, which never seemed make much sense, even with a few biggish names involved.

It was mostly terrible, but there were a few genuinely funny moments in the series.

There's not much online about it, but most of the people involved went on to make Stellar Street, which was a lot better.

The main few (presently) I can recall are Eldorado (or should it be given it's terrible nickname it earned in 1992) ElBorado!!

Hope It rains did'nt seem to last too long I recall either, but somehow it had all the right mix - but never got the credit it deserved I felt!

Another main one was Luv - Carla Laine's last good sucsess (of sorts)- though obviously not to the degree of Bread, Butterflies and The liver Birds - but again as with Hope It Rains I found it to have the rightmix ad some good actors with Michael Angelis being pretty convincing as the lead male character (though you knew it was going to happen with him) in most lines, he was still very funny and made the show in many a way I felt!

I never remember Hope It Rains.

Another Carla Lane show that isn't well remembered was Screaming, which only lasted one series.

I actually liked eldorado by the time is got popular they had already decided to axe it.

Another was night and day on itv not that many yrs ago.
Luv never even heard of it.

Firefly and tremors. So much sci fi gets axed even before it's off the starting block if it's lucky it will survive a season maybe two but anything beyond that is exceptional. As a sci fi collector my little dvd library is full of unfinished series and flops.
