I was being a bit too literal and ironic, I would say that I wouldn't wear my school uniform today.

    I’ve mentioned it before ...

I followed the trend of wearing ‘lunes’ and also ‘two-tone’ parallel trousers ....

Lunes were skin tight from waist to knee then went outwards into baggy pants from knee to foot .. I had a brown pair and a bottle green pair ..

I heard they became unpopular because people realised they would show when your armpits got hot.

These are two good calls you have made here Darren - which further emphesizes we must be "lost twins"

I never liked Shirts either as well as Jeans and Shoes - as you say, unless the later for Weddings/Funerals

Though if I go on this airCabin Crew Course in Sept that may all change to be honest lol

One major biggy I hate is how ties have been made to be skinny ones- this is nothing like how they made them in the 80s

If you want a skinny tie - just wear it skinny I say, it's only the same as other trends like Cowboy Hats and Jeans Trends - even though it started off as a School fad lol

Most of the 80s (or at least 70% rather) to be honest, but even thogh most have been improved upon but are'nt as good if this makes any sense, which then brings everything full circle and = no difference then as a result. Though the original windrunners of the 80s and Short Collared Shirts from then are good!!

I was thinking about loons as I started scrolling through this thread! Weren't they worn low on the hip and were very tight-fitting until at the knee they flared out to a ridiculous degree? I was a bit young for them I think as they were late-60s/very early-70s if I remember correctly - and I always thought of them as hippy-wear! I remember you could buy them mail-order - there were always ads for them in the Melody Maker.

I have a red and white striped bobble hat covered with badges I wore in the early 70s. It's still in my wardrobe but I wouldn't dare wear it now--even though it has some cool badges
