I once owned a red pvc mac which was fashionable around 1970 71ish which had big lapels large buttons large pockets on the front

You could have had a cap to match but I didnt bother.

I had one of these myself. If I'm thinking of the same one, they could be worn by girls or boys. The cap was quite big. It had, what resembled shoe laces, ties either side. These were done up to hold the cap on. I also remember the mac in purple.

Certainly not any 1980s -Shirts - the design of them truly was a fashion-crime until the 1990s indeed!

As too was most 1980s football shirts too - par the odd one or two

Bubble skirts. Shell suits. Harrington Jackets. That shade of pink, green and white that abounded in the 80's. Not together.

i had some hideous things bought by my mother at jumble sales/ second hand shops that she would try to pass off to me as new. I'd be handed some horrible faded skirt that had clearly been washed a million times but she'd swear up and down that it was brand new if I questioned it.

Those itchy grey-black trousers that had little coloured flecks in them. Never again!

pin striped flares from when I was about 9. Great for doing sliding tackles in though.

Fortunately never ever wore a shell suit.

Without a doubt, it has to be...shell suits!

I hold my hands up, I had a couple of shell suits in the early 90s
