Wow, I've been searching the 'net looking for information on old ice creams / lollies & here I am! Just registered with the site & am most impressed with all the images & wrappers that have managed to be dug out, fantastic stuff! I was a big fan of the Walls 'King Kong' lollies & have seen them mentioned, any more info. or images of these would be really appreciated.
It's great that Lyons Maid have a sense of their own history, but a crying shame that Walls don't, they've really gone corporate in a bad way huh? No archive, no information, rubbish. I can't even find the old Walls logo with the boy & girl sitting back to back under the Walls sign! (1970s I think?) another one I'd like to see.
I'm going to have to go to Spain now to get my hands on a Dracula lolly! awesome that they still exist!!
I think we could definitley form a pressure group to get Nestle/Lyons Maid & Walls to release a nostalgia/archive range! they've done with Chocolate bars (Texan, Wispa, etc.) why not Ice Cream!!
Best
Stuart
Thanks for the welcome, love the site! I remember at the start of summer going to the sweet shop & seeing the new display board for Walls, etc. & it would have all of the new ice creams / lollies, etc. on it. I'm getting excited now just remembering it.
It's a real shame Walls don't have an archive of these kind of things? they've been going for years, so no excuse really. It's great that there are some fellow diggers out there who've actually kept wrappers, etc!
Thanks for the info., I'll keep digging myself & see what I can come up with.
Cheers.
