i loved pendletons twicer , and the best was a hat trick lime lolly ice with chocolate on the outside and ice cream in the middle , it had a rabbit on the wrapper . No one remembers this i find
There was a vanilla ice cream during the 70's that came in an orange plastic ball, there was a lid on the top of the ball and which you opened and scooped out the ice cream _ can't remember what it was called.
Update!! The balls were called Toniballs, sold by Tonibell ice cream vans from 1970 to 1973, and the old memory must be going,as they were only sold in Red colour apparently
They were actually called Miniball Full list of colours included
Sellers comments:
A special process was used to produce this range by printing pictures on the ice cream. There were eight different pictures. Frankenstein's Monster, a spook, a skeleton, spider and web, some bats, a wicked witch and a creature bearing a vague resemblance to Jelly Terror's mother-in-law. The pictures appeared on the ice cream in pink, orange, red, green and blue edible colouring. Children didn't know what picture they would get until the wrapper had been removed. Price 4p. HAUNTED HOUSE ICE CREAM STICKER FROM 1970'S LYONS MAID on eBay, also Other Food Advertising, Food, Advertising, Collectables (end time 26-Apr-09 20:00:59 BST)
Can't get over 'The Finger' - they wouldn't dare call it that now. Remember Dracula quite fondly, but it has to go to the melty thirst quencher that is Lemonade Sparkle.
Tonibell Miniball was avaliable from Tonibell ice cream vans as Tonibell is its own brand and will not be found under any other brand names. the balls were avaliable in a few different colours i have white and green in my collection along with the advert shown.
