Ha! I've got the two-tone colour ad in a few old comics but had completely forgotten about the stencil sticks. I had a fair few of those and it was probably the most creative use of a lolly stick I've ever seen. Don't know what happened to them, though. Strange (and I've thought this about many long, lost things) how there must have been one day, one time, that was the last time you saw or used something. After that, you just never saw it again. I dread to think how long ago was the last time I drew a face with a Count Dracula Trace-a-Face lolly stick!

Edit - just had a look at the blog you mentioned which is great stuff. I was quite the Horror Bags fan - had the horror grippers as well.

Speaking of "horror" things, myself and a mate of mine used to love the "Horror Cards" which were spooky versions of Top Trumps in the late 70s/early 80s. I remember there being only two packs with one pack having Dracula on the front and some of the specs were "Fear Factor" and "Strength".
We made our own ones one day and I found them a few years ago in a Yahtzee box I had. I'd lost touch with the lad I'd made them with until I got invited to his wedding and he was totally gobsmacked that I still had them, so I gave them to him so he could be their "keeper" for the next 20odd years.

Anyone else remember these "Horror Cards"?

Thems the ones! I never realised at the time they were official Top Trumps.

Now to win some on eBay as i'd love to get him some for his (2nd) wedding.

Cheers, i've been bidding on a few packs but they've gone too high for me, especially once you convert it to AU$.
