Re: Old catalogue pages.
Brings back so many memories of some of the toys me and my mates had.My fav all time toy was the 3-D Tomytromic skyattack game.Played on that for ages.Must of been around the early 80's.Shocked to see it cost more then my first wage packet in 1983,so father really must of put in a lot of hours and spent money we really did not have at that time to buy one for christmas. Can't believe I took home £16.50p for 40 hours in 1983,and dad paid £19.00 for that a few years earlier.Really shocked. We never really seemed to have had a lot of spare money so that comes as a real surprise.

Re: Old catalogue pages.
Many thanks for this thread, as a child I spent many hours drooling over the toys section.

I can't believe the price of the Texas 'Speak & Spell' £29.95, and that was discounted! No wonder I never got one at that price eek! I did however get a 'Little Professor', which was priced at £9.95 a little more affordable back then.

I've seen that sort of thing before, & it used to confuse me when I was young.

Re: Old catalogue pages.
Does anyone remember a Green Shields Stamps catalogue showing a family on the front cover reading a Green Shields Stamps Catalogue... with the same picture on the front of themselves reading the Green Shields Stamps Catalogue with the same picture on the front, of themsleves reading the same Green Shields Stamps catalogue with the same picture etc etc.
It kind of drew your eyes into a vortex.
How the hell did they pull that off with 1970s graphics?!

Many thanks for the uploads Heather - it has brought a lot of memories back .
I had the Chemistry 5 set (not 4 as in the picture) but it was styled exactly the same, the Tonka truck (before they turned plastic), the Ghostbusters figures, car and the Ghostbusters ghost zapper (a projector), and Lights Alive.

Every Christmas without fail, someone would give me a Parker Pen with a clock stuck in the top.

I still got the rainy day book.
I seem to remember the laughing bags.
