Re: R.I.P Robin Gibb
Robin was such a brilliant singer - as was the other Bee Gee brother who sadly passed away too, likewise with Andy. They'll never ever be another group like the Bee Gees with so many uniquly great song's and such a one-off style.
Massachuetts is possibly my all time favourite Bee Gees song, but I love so so many others they made too.Last edited by 80sChav; 21-05-2012, 16:30.

Re: R.I.P Robin Gibb
Second only to Lennon/McCartney as the most successful British songwriting team in pop history. I'll admit I'm not a fan of their disco stuff but their earlier songs were brilliant. Especially Massachussets, Saved by the Bell (solo hit for Robin), and Words. And Robin's was the best voice in my opinion. RIP.

Re: R.I.P Robin Gibb
RIP Robin.
The Bee Gees made some great music, there is much more to them than the (great) disco-era stuff, especially the lean period of 1969-75, where they made some really great soul and pop music, which didnt sell. They could do pop, acid pop, disco, soul, funk. Radio 2 did a fantastic series last year about how they constructed their sound, esp the 70's and disco era.
And Robin has done a huge amount for the Forces in terms of charity.
Only big brother Barry left now out of four brothers, all three dead well before their time.
Very sad.
