Cool. Hmm I liked my'n a CM or 2 long (but that left yards and yards of broad bit to tuck in). Still love the style now!

I thought peanutting was when the knot was pulled tight!? Yeah/no!!?

I left school in 1981 and remember it was the thing to do to have your tie in a huge big fat knot with the thick end dangling a few inches!

However, I recall getting a rip stitch going in the needlework lesson and undoing the stitching in the back of the tie, and then pressing it open, so it looked like a big flat 70's cravat! I got the rip took out of me, but i thought it was dead funny and I was leaving anyway!

Yeah it was more of an 80s/90s thing to just show the thin bit only!

Football Shirts (under your School Shirt) or Shorts 4 PE

Or even Footy Shirts AND Shorts for PE too. Who else ever did this?, if so which where they?

I don't remember anything about the narrow and wide ends of the tie. But I do remember the knots! For the latter part of the 70s, the fashion seemed to be for the biggest knots possible!

Trainers or/and Polo Shirt after PE

Which did you go for to keep on? With me it was my Polo. So in the meanwhile i'd make sure my School Shirt got deliberatly and fully creased and'd look awful worn!
