Vauxhall used to supply Thames TV with police cars for The Bill, usually Astras, although as "Sierra Oscar" was their call sign, one would have expected Ford Sierras? - I think they did eventually.

Seen in countless movies and TV shows, the most iconic American police car in the '70s had to be the Dodge Monaco. A friend of mine bought a similar one with the help of this company. He says that everything went smooth and the car is gorgeous.

Can't beat the classics. Love the old panda cars in pale blue with white doors. There were various models of car used, but all with the same colour scheme.

I used to think that police cars were called panda cars because a lot of them were Fiat Pandas, but I suppose that it predates that.

The Ford Crown Victoria was a popular USA police car & taxi for many years, so much so that they were still made for a while after stopping private sales.

This one is definitely the best from all of here! :O What kind of a car is that? Looks incredible - modern and old-school at the same time.

Re: Best looking police cars
Queue control. Seen it done many times prior to the introduction of so-called 'smart motorways'. The end of a queue of busy fast moving traffic can travel very quickly back along a carriageway. The sight of blue lights were generally enough to slow or alert oncoming traffic so they used to run back along the shoulder to slow the approaching cars and had to keep pace with the back of the stationary vehicles. Very effective.
