    Re: Is it just me?.....

Even though it was on when I was a kid, I bet I watched no more than 20 GH episode in my whole life. Used to like watching the intro and then used to go out to play.

I only liked the bit where the sausage on a fork gets thrown across the lunchroom...

        Re: Is it just me?.....

I haven't started any threads at all but i admit to having made similar posts in threads that were similar.Perhaps even posting the same thing in the same thread more than once if a long thread and my previous post was several months earlier. My memory's not what it used to be.-and nor are my eyes. Sorry in advance if i do it again.

          Re: Is it just me?.....

I do try to slot posts into old threads where possible. I think some people feel funny about adding to old threads as this seems to be a cardinal sin on other forums, but I think it is appropriate on a nostalgia forum where looking back is what it is all about! I've found some great stuff in old threads I have never come across. I do find the repetitive threads annoying but don't tend to read those ones.

I don't post here very often but to be honest I avoid the 'School Days' thread as just find it tedious and a bit boring as you say (and I liked GH!)

There are some great threads though and I'm loving new member Nostalgia, I think the forum maybe needed someone like him

I like his style too - it was his comment about being too honest that clinched it. the only problem is forums thrive on individuality and humour - stifle that and eventually repetitive threads end up being the norm.

              Anyway, welcome Roz.

This is the case, the repetitive posts are annoying. I don't read them but I always check the new posts and there is a list of these types of topics and my heart sinks! I look forward to new pictures of crisps and sweets etc to jog my memories and all I get is 'school, grange hill, school ties, school cliques, bands from the 60's (that should be in the members lounge)' etc etc. When I first joined there were people on here who used to post some really great stuff and they've not even logged on in over a year. I know I sound like an old moaner but I can see that this forum has changed and not for the better imo. I live in hope that it'll get back on form! Maybe a new forum should be started called 'Do You Remember Do you Remember' Ha Ha!

I loved Grange Hill. It was a great programme but do we really need so many threads discussing it in different ways? I agree its very tedious and boring!

They break no rules but it seems many people are avoiding these posts as they find them 'tedious & boring'. Why should a minority be able to bring down the feel of the forum that is surely created for the majority?

                      Re: Is it just me?.....

I avoid posts if I don't like the subject of don't have anything to say or someone else has already said it for me.
What you are saying happens to all forums in time.I don't really know what the answer is for it.
As a new member myself I still find it hard to find a subject that has not already been mentioned to post about diffacult.Saying what I want to say...and someone else has beaten me to it is also awkward for a new person.Combined posts are ok but trying to sort out which post is which and trying to come in with something which someone mentioned about 3 pages back is not that easy.I expect many old members would also complain if I revived posts from the dead from several years ago which is what I have been doing on and off.Been there done that sort of thing..lets move on.It really is not easy for anybody new to settle into a well established forum like this one unless you are very outspoken and forward. Most of the posts I find tedius or boring usually relate to subjects that don't interest me.Perhaps the answer is to find new things to post about that may be of interest. But old people not posting is nothing new either. Many have said what they wanted to and cannot think of anything else to say and move on to pastures new.Perhaps they have new interests to keep them busy or they just want something more that the forum cannot offer them anymore once the shine of being a member has worn off.Is the minority new members or a mixture of old and new. It's worth looking into as it may say something about what is going on that may make this forum seem a bit tedius for some longer serving members.

                        Re: Is it just me?.....

When the new posts are a repeat of the old posts only reworded it makes the forum boring and repetitive IMO. Fair enough add your opinion to an old thread that is relevant. Don't just start a new one for the hell of it.

I can only find one grange hill thread, posted on last over two weeks ago. link me the rest and I'll merge them.

One thing for certain is no one is starting a new thread instead of posting their opinions here.
