My dad took me to see Super Mario Bros when it came out and at that age I absolutely loved it, even remember collecting the toys. It is a hell of a strange film on reflection though isn't it? There are many little nods throughout the film to the game but the overall plot and world was very strange indeed. My main complaint as a child was that Luigi didn't have a moustache and Koopa was just a bloke with a spiky blonde haircut. My god, how did they ever get Dennis Hopper to appear in this?

The directors of this film were a husband and wife and were apparently an absolute nightmare to deal with on set, often going off at members of the crew and arguing between themselves. Bob Hoskins himself said it was the worst moment of his career appearing in this and only took the role because his son was a huge fan of the games and thought it would be very cool. I know way too much about this film, sad isn't it?

Interesting though how the film ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger, setting up a sequel that never saw the light of day.........and probably just as well.

      "The Intelligence Men"

As much as I'm a big Morecambe & Wise fan, for some reason, their comedic talents simply didn't translate well to the big screen.

Raise The Titanic (1980) made five years before they found the real Titanic. This film was a flop, it was boring. I found a copy on VHS in a charity shop for 10p! I never knew it was released on VHS. i only watch the bit where they raise it.

Final Cut (1998) Nihilistic British black comedy with Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Sadie Frost, the Burdess brothers all having a smug ex-Anna Sher Acting School student love-in.

The worst? I've seen some real stinkers over the years but this one has really stayed with me as a rotten cinema going experience.. It's even got a Walk of Fame handprints in brass plaque outside Leicester Sq Odeon. Wha..?

After Earth -- a literal snoozefest. At the cinema I spent more time looking at my watch than the film and my housemates fell asleep.

Love this movie. Really showed that Carey could do something other than brightly-coloured, zany characters. His cable was tortured and terrifying. Hilarious too.

                            Really ? Personally I think it's a classic.
It's not particularly true to the original book, but as a movie in it's own right I think that it is very good.
For me it's one of those films where you have to switch off & completely immerse yourself in it's universe.
I can see how it has dated for some viewers but to me it's timeless.
A Clockwork Orange was a difficult movie to get hold of in the 80s, I managed to track a bootleg down for my first viewing.
Now I obviously have the DVD & it gets an airing once or twice a year, I never tire of it.
Absolutely one of Kubrick's best in my opinion.

Why didn't you like it BusesFan ? What was it in particular that made you hate it ?

If any film should have been on this list, it's the Last Airbender. God that film was just painful to watch, its the worst film I've ever seen.
