Difficult. It was more the song, not the singer that caught my ear in those days. I was only in the UK 82-84 during the main part of the 80s, so probably missed a lot. Pet Shop Boys, the band that did "Reward", not a major musical part of my life the 80s, I sort of stopped at around '72 and stayed there

I just love the 80's. In fact when it comes to music all I have in my cd collection is all 80's stuff! Love it, love it, guess I'm stuck in it!

i like most metal from the 80s iron maiden,wasp,twisted sister,skid row,helloween etc etc

plus alot of pop like howard jones,kajagoogoo,a ha,belinda carlisle,tye bangles etc etc

Okay ur choices are at opposite spectrums aren't they lol

The problem with the eighties is although it shaped a lot of the electronica that we have now, it also spawned some of the biggest S**t ever, Tight Fit any one, perhaps Black Lace.....?, Russ bloody Abbott???????

My mate Paul produced the Tight Fit attempt at stardom. I still dislike him for that.
He now produces the cheap compilation cd's that you see for a couple of quid on the cheap cd stall at the market, the stall that alwats has Flannigan and Allen playing, or some really poo country and western song...."I threw my dog across the yard because mu wife don't like me"......

I was mad about Liquid Gold....tragic I know but I still think their sense of fun and cheesy disco-funk was uplifting, just a pity they weren't around too long, "Dance Yourself Dizzy", "Substitute" and "The Night, The Wine and the Roses" were their biggest hits. I later became a Thompson Twins fanatic and travelled from Glasgow to London to see them in concert in 1984. When my teenage angst kicked in I bacame a pedlar of misery and joined Morrissey's fanatical following with his band "The Smiths". I still listen to all these bands today and on the original vinyl !

I still enjoy listening to the Smiths,"how soon is now" is a great tune ,Andrew Ridgely frequents one of my drinking establishments, and his mrs occasionaly takes the brownies for dance lessons,(or did). I must say Im still quite fond of eighties tunes.
